Meet Our staff
Supporting the VIC® since 2012, Wendy began as a volunteer and soon became the Outreach Coordinator working to not only locate Veterans in need, but bring the mission of the VIC® to supporters throughout New Mexico. An Air Force Veteran and daughter of a Marine, Wendy has a lifetime of service to our nation’s Heroes including over 25 years as an Air Force spouse working in places like the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany with the Wounded Warrior Ministry Center supporting coalition forces from over 44 countries as they returned with combat injuries from the War on Terror.
Currently the Development Director, Wendy works closely with community leaders, partner agencies and other corporate sponsors bringing the VIC® mission into a vision that they understand and can embrace. By helping find a renewed sense of belonging and community support from our team of over 30 employees, and over 13 years of continued commitment to all Veteran families in New Mexico, Wendy helps community leaders and sponsors understand and recognize that their dollars are efficiently used to help the over 2000 Veteran and non-Veteran families annually. Wendy helps build corporate giving opportunities by reflecting on the VIC®’s fiscal responsibility, a key tenant to our mission, using less than 9% of the dollars donated toward operating costs. This ensures maximum effort goes to support the homeless and low-income Veteran families in need throughout the state. Using a multi-layered approach toward giving, she builds long-standing relationships from a variety of partnerships, by bringing companies, donors and individual supporters together through corporate giving opportunities that contribute over 500 volunteer hours annually from teams helping distribute food or raise over 450lbs of canned goods, to the corporate team wanting to make volunteer service for our Veteran families key to building positive change in our communities.
