OPERATION URGENT NEED COMBATS FOOD INSECURITY IN BERNALILLO COUNTY Veterans Integration Centers Home Delivery Service Expanded for Food Pantry Clients

(Albuquerque, NM) –The Veterans Integration Centers has expanded its home delivery program, Operation Urgent Need, with funding support from the PNM Foundation and Bernalillo County District 5 Funding from Commissioner Pyskoty. The initiative now serves 15 homebound clients who have been unable to access the VIC’s Food Pantry or go grocery shopping due to physical or medical limitations due to COVID19 restrictions. The homebound clients (Veterans and Community members) are some of the most vulnerable in the community and by providing home delivered food resources, the VIC is ensuring they are receiving healthy food resources that otherwise would have left them food insecure because of physical and medical disabilities.

The funding provided by both the PNM Foundation and District 5, has enabled the VIC to continue to operate Operation Urgent Need throughout the remainder of 2020.

If you can help with donations for Operation Urgent Need, financial contributions can be made directly to the VIC or by using our secure online server.

The VIC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations to the VIC are tax-deductible.
